About the author

I graduated from Tennessee State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in Africana Studies.  After being heavily inspired and influenced by a professor, and Oxford Round-table scholar, Dr. William Hardy, I fulfilled my grandmother’s prophecy of becoming a chip off the old block, and  I became a teacher.   I earned my teaching certification and a Master of Arts degree in English, also from Tennessee State University.   I love my alma mater, I share the same one as Oprah.

I currently teach at the high school and collegiate level, and I have taught, Pre-K, and Middle School.  I teach and have taught a full range of students from Exceptional Education, English Language Learners,  and Adult Learners in a non-traditional college setting. I ama member of Golden Key International Honor Society, and Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society.  I am the current president of the Nashville Chapter of the National Council of Teachers of English and I volunteer with Girls Inc.
